Recently, Mitsubishi Electric released a new IR sensor (passive IR detector array, based on SOI technology) ideal for various applications.

The IR sensor is used in multiple market segments and applications such as:

People counting
Smart buildings (HVAC, Lighting control, Security, Energy savings etc.)
Medical (patient monitoring, T° measurement)

IR Sensor “MelDIR” – Advanced Temperature Detection for a Smart Society

The infrared (IR) sensor ”MelDIR” incorporates a thermal diode sensor technology originally developed by Mitsubishi Electric to realize higher resolution and higher temperature sensitivity. ”MelDIR” is ideal for crime prevention, surveillance systems, people-counting, air-conditioning and temperature sensing applications.
