New MelDIR IR Sensors with 80×60 and 80×32 pixels

Recently, Mitsubishi Electric released a new IR sensor (passive IR detector array, based on SOI technology) destined for various applications.

The IR sensor is used in multiple market segments and applications such as:

  • People counting
  • Smart buildings (HVAC, Lighting control, Security, Energy savings etc.)

IR Sensors "MelDIR" - Advanced Temperature Detection for a Smart Society This infrared (IR) sensors ”MelDIR" incorporate thermal diode infrared sensor technologies originally developed by Mitsubishi Electric to realize higher pixel and high-temperature resolution performance. ”MelDIR" is ideal for crime prevention, surveillance systems, people-counting systems, and air-conditioning systems, and other equipment for control temperature with temperature measurement, without using an expensive infrared cameras.
